Sorry, as I know this must have been covered before. I have read a number of posts, but can't find the exact thing I need.

My Non O ran out and I came in on a 30 day on July 30th and will go to Manila for 3 nights on August 29. So when I come back in that will be my second 30 day and I was hoping to do one for 30 day at the end of September. This would get me to end of October andI would  leave on November 1with my son  and not return to Thailand.

My question is will I have a problem at Suvarnabhumi having 3 30 day entries in a row? Each time I fly out, I stay out of Thailand for at least 2 nights.

I have a court order that says I now have full custody of my Thai son. That was issued in July and I really don't want to have to go to Laos to get new Non O just for 2 months.

Any help would be appreciated. Again sorry to bring up something that has more than likely been posted on many times.

You should not have a problem getting the 3 visa exempt entries. Just be prepared to show a ticket out of the country within 30 days and the equivalent of 10k baht in cash.

Thanks for the reply Joe.

Do I have to have it in cash on me or an updated statement from Thai bank. You also say 10K, but I had read people saying they need to show 20K. Would having the court order that says I have custody of a Thai child also help?

Your other option is to apply for a TV from the Thai Embassy in Manilla.

That would give you 60 days, to the end of October and you could extend that for another 30 days at local Immigration, just in case your plan to depart on Nov 1st is delayed.

Thanks, but I won't have time for that as my flight won't land till Thursday at Noon, and leave on Saturday to come back. Thanks for the suggestion.

Cash or travellers cheques. Bank statements aren't accepted.

The 20K requirement is for entry on a TV.

Yes, having the Court order would help if questioned about your reason for entry, but that's highly improbable unless you have a history of Visa exempt entries.

You can also extend a 30 day VEE at Immigration for another 30 days (1,900 baht) allowing you to stay for 60 days.

If I did an extension. Would it still be possible to fly out and come back in on a 30 day if I needed more time to get things sorted out?

Yes.

You can extend any/all 30 day VEE by 30 days at local Immigration, no need to keep flying out and reduces the number of your entries on VEE's.

You could extend your current VEE which would take you to the end of Sept, if you haven't already booked your flights to Manilla.

Thanks, I booked a flight yesterday, but it is okay. Now I know about extending.

I have a flight booked in the middle of October to Taipei so will extend the visa I get when come back from Manila and then fly out middle of October. That will give me  plenty of time. Will save me a lot of money as changing Taipei flight was expensive.

Thanks, I appreciate your help.

When you enter with the next 30 day visa exempt entry you could extend that stay by 60 days as the parent of a Thai, giving you a total stay of 90 days. It’s the same cost (1,900 baht) as extending by 30 days for tourism.

Thanks very much. I appreciate your help.

At Immigration do I just ask for a 60 day extension for having a Thai child? and what do I have to show them? (birth certificate and court order)

Yes, I now have a Thai court order with 100% custody.

You only need to have legalised your parenthood for a 1 year extension of stay. Just being named on the birth certificate is enough for a 60 day extension.

Yes, you ask for a 60 day extension to visit your child.

You would need the original and copy of birth certificate and the child's house registration book. The child would need to go with you to immigration. Having the court order confirming you have sole custody isn't generally required, but it would be good to take it with you, especially if the mother isn't around.

Don't have book that he is registered in as his mother would not give it to me. Just court order. And Mum is not around she lives in Norway with new husband and family.

You can go to a Amphoe and ask for a printout of his house book registry that immigration would accept.

You would need their birth certificate to prove you are their father.
