Speedboat explodes into fire in Phang Nga

A parked speedboat which originated in Phuket has caught fire in Phang Nga today (August 13). One injury has been reported.

 

The Takua Thung Police in Phang Nga were notified of the incident at 10.30am on Ao Man in Takua Thung.

 

The speedboat captain told police that they were travelling with 20 middle eastern tourists and departed from Laem Sai Pier in Pa Khlok on their way to Ao Man.

these boating incidents like this and the phoenix will only continue to rise ,these operators and tour group owners are the same bunch as the van and bus drivers,hire the unexperienced,cut corners break laws, gogogo, cause its all about the$$$$$ .the good news is ''Thailand has the most honest taxi drivers in the world''

PHANG NGA — A couple dozen tourists were relaxing Monday on an idyllic beach when three loud explosions were heard and, soon after, the boat that delivered them to the lagoon burst into flames, injuring one man still aboard.

 

The BB Sealion 9 suddenly went up in flames while anchored off Ao Mhan beach in the Takua Thung district of Phang Nga after unloading 20 tourists there from Phuket. Sukiflee Phromchai, a 30-year-old crewmember, was injured in the fire.

I'm guessing the government won't be interested if the tourists weren't flavour of the month - Chinese, although the first two words of the headline may well have caught Prawit's attention.

So much for all the big talk about new regulations, boats must be checked before they leave etc., etc., etc.

 

Lack of professional attention by officials still the order of the day.

 

Nothing has changed, stand by, more bad headlines coming soon.
