British passport renewal

The agent in Pattaya  charges 5000 Baht { assuming you use your own Debit / Credit card } The normal 10 days is usual. You can do it via EMS with him if you do not live near Pattaya. You keep your passport at all times.

Cannot do through the UK if you are resident in Thailand. You will give/send the passport to the agent and they will return it with the new one.

 

It will take up to 4 weeks. You will authorise the agent to deposit and retrieve from VfS. You - or they - will provide a credit card authority. You will provide photos and address verification.

No. The UK passport is more than 5000 baht.

It can be done cheaper and quicker than that by agents.

5k, 2-3 weeks, same turnaround as if applying by yourself at Trendy.

Thanks for the reply, when I said 7000 baht, I am under the impression that is the all in price ie passport and their fees, but it does take 8 weeks. However I will double check.

 

Is the quote you quoted just for their fees?

Yes, 5000bht for their service, the PP fee is taken from the UK end..All can be done by EMS post..They do all the photo copying too..

Did I read it in another thread where the person wanting a passport and living in Thailand had to report personally to the British Embassy and cannot be done by a third party, if so how does this work Trans?

Key has an agreement with Trendy...I used this route for an old guy near me...?

There is a third party authority form whereby you appoint someone (anyone - family member, agent) to submit the application on your behalf - and collect the new passport.

be EMS's it tomorrow, only took a week to get it ,once she sent it in,

So you were correct getting passport renewed in UK is possible,

That's saved me 2 trips from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and all that

it entails, at 73 it maybe the last passport i will need, hope not but"

You should tell him to make sure she gets a letter from the Embassy requesting any Extension stamps to be transferred from the cancelled passport. This will be needed if you want Immigration to transfer stamps and a re-entry permit. It gets issued automatically for new passports picked up in Bangkok, but I doubt it will be in the UK.
