In the real world, if a 69-year-old man walks up to strangers and starts bragging about how perfect he is while calling them "boys" or "narcs," people will walk away, laugh at him, or put him in his place immediately. There are real-world consequences for acting like a tyrant. Behind the keyboard, he is safe. He can project an image of a dominant, untouchable figure without ever risking physical confrontation, being walked out on, or facing a court room. The screen acts as armor for an incredibly fragile, cowardly ego.
