All large- and medium-sized dams in the country are discharging water as planned in preparing to take more rainwater expected to be brought about by tropical storm “Bebinca”, Office of National Water Resources (ONWR) director-general Somkiat Prajamwong said on Wednesday.

He said special attention is now on Kaeng Krachan dam in Phetchaburi, Srinagarind and Vajiralongkorn dams in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaprapa dam in Surat Thani and Khun Dan Prakan Chon dam in Nakhon Nayok.

Khun Dan Prakan Chon dam will be under close watch this week after 100 milimetres of rain poured on mountains on Aug 13, sending run-off that caused sudden flooding at two waterfalls in Nakhon Nayok.

Not too sure about that. Checked their info today and the inflow to Vajiralongkorn has increased and they have slightly reduced the outflow. At todays rates it will hit 100% capacity in about 10 days time.

A lot of people holding their breath over the next few days
