Just a word off warning so check the policy? i was admitted to one hospital for a heart problem whilst in the hospital was examined by a consultant in the hospital that told me i need to be transferred to a government hospital as the hospital i was in do not have the facilities to carry out Heart stent operations.

 

So the next morning was transferred to the government hospital admitted at 0900hrs and operated on to have stent fitted at 1030 am same day told needed to pay first for stent operation as directed by the medical Doctor. Then told by insurance to pay first then recover from insurance company after op. so far so good.

 

 

Doctor informed me second stent needs fitting with in month as he does not want to chance fitting two at the same time worried over kidney damage.  So second on fitted with 3 weeks odd, insurance company took over 6 weeks after they received paperwork to inform me that  ( Because i was transferred out of one hospital to another to another on the  orders of the doctor i was not able for a refund of 300,000 Bt due to being transferred and also being admitted before 91 days after transferred  to second hospital?, i informed them that i could not wait 91 days  as doctor want to get first one in ASAP.

 

so any advice needed or have i been well and truly shafted  let us know but also if you have policy get it checked,  thanks

Sounds you didn't check your policy also health Ins company should trusted like a great white Shark .

Probably, if you care to pay. Insurance is a business like any other....

Hate to say it but billing & insurance is just the tip of it.

 

You would have been best served getting a second opinion outside of Thailand

as to whether or not you even needed a stent
