Electronic garbage dumped next to an irrigation channel in Tambon Don Phutsa in Nakhon Pathom's Don Tum distinct has led to calls for the authorities to investigate and prosecute those responsible.

The residents' representative Permpoon Khamen-ngan, 35, told reporters on Friday that businesses had disposed of electronic garbage for a long time until it now affected residents' livelihood and farming.

The landlord of the fenced-off plot had at first told residents that it was normal garbage but they became suspicious at the increasingly frequent truck trips and some mirror pieces scattered along the road.

They checked and saw a large number of mirror pieces, electrical wires, TVs, computer screens and fridge-lining material next to the canal.

Permpoon said it was a flood-prone spot and the junk could be swept into farms and fish ponds. He said residents wanted the electronic garbage removed and not burned, causing harmful pollution.
