webfact
Teen killed in Narathiwat shooting By Narong Nuansakul The Nation Picture: Thai Rath A grocery-shop shooting in Narathiwat late Saturday night ended with a 14-year-old boy being killed by a stray bullet. A man believed to have been the actual target was shot and wounded. Officials were unsure whether the shooting was related to the southern insurgency. Rusoh district police deputy inspector-general Pol Captain Marut Nilkosee was on the scene soon after 2am and found the teenager, Abdul-azan Baka, dead from his wound. Sathit Kaewnunuan, 39, had by then already been taken to hospital. Witnesses said Sathit, a Yala resident, had just parked his motorcycle and was sitting in a pavilion by the shop when two gunshots were heard. Rusoh police superintendent Pol Colonel Charas Semsan said it was more likely the shooting stemmed from personal conflict rather than the political unrest. “But we don’t rule out any possibility,” he said. Cereal
I know this is tangential to the story, but what is a 14 year old kid doing out at 2am for anyway? Any kids at that time? It's crazy, why does a grocery shop need to be open then?

Possibly because it was the last day of Eid Al-Adha and in my (limited) experience muslims tend to celebrate late into the night.
