webfact Posted August 27, 2018 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Nakhon Phanom hit by floods Four districts of the northeastern border province of Nakhon Phanom have been hit with floods from overflows from inland streams while water in the Mekong river continues to rise. Water in the Mekong river in front of the Nakhon Phanom Municipality office in Muang district was 12.55 metres high, only about 45 centimetres below the edge of the bank. In Ban Phaeng district, two riverside villages were inundated. About 50 houses were damaged. Ban Phaeng Pithayakhom School, which was 30-50cm under water, was ordered closed indefinitely.
