PATTAYA:--The Marine Department reconfirmed that the rebuilding of Pattaya Beach will be completed by year-end.

Former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun, flanked by Department Deputy Commissioner Somchai Sumanatkajonkul and Rattanachai Sutidechanai, the ex-Pattaya councilman who now advises the Tourism and Sports Ministry, announced Aug. 23 the completion of the project will be a landmark for Thailand.

Good news and hopefully they can then start on renovating the beach walkway which is deteriorating rapidly especially the wooden platform opposite Mikes Mall....but maybe I,m hoping for too much :whistling:

It will be completed in time for the next budget allocation.  This is an annual event now.

It's looking pretty good on the completed part from around Soi 6 north to the beginning of beach road.
