Thai uni student tells media how "sex for grades professor" was arrested

A Thai university student - identified only as Neung - has told the media how she took part in a sting operation at a short time hotel to expose a professor.

The professor at a leading university was only giving good grades to attractive women if they slept with him.

The student and her friends had noticed that attractive women were failing - it didn't seem to matter how talented they were.

That was until they went to see the professor to discuss how they might become "A" students.

This led Neung, 26, to the hotel room while a female professor in on the sting and police officers waited nearby.

Neung was asked to undress but she asked the professor to do it for her. She stalled and stalled as only one button was undone and she wore a towel. She then started asking about condoms.

He produced a packet and opened it then while he was distracted in the toilet she secretly unlocked the door to enable the police to have easy access in the moments to follow.

When the professor came out of the toilet he ordered her onto the bed and prepared to have sex with her.

She called out and the female professor and soon after police were suddenly in the room.

The sting came after allegations against the man had been made and he was suspended from his job and a committee set up to investigate.

But hard evidence was needed of what he was doing.

The age of the person in the sting, however, is not indicative of all the professor's behavior.

He has been charged with sleeping with women over the age of 15 and not yet able to give legal consent.

The sting itself seems like it was unnecessarily thorough. Could it not have just been a recording of the professor saying he’d give good grades for sex. Did it need to get so close?

I hope the student didn't call out too soon, i.e. before "hard evidence" started to show on the professor. This disgusting predator needs to be hit with the full force of the law.

This enforcement is sure to send a scare to a lot of farang teachers

Seems like a very good "anticlimactic" sting. Had it just been a recording, in this day and age, somebody might have called it a FAKE recording. (both Thailand and USA are into discrediting facts now via suggestions of FAKE)

Film it, then.

How would Thailand's administrative system function without the obligatory committee?

This particular one looks like being generously salacious for the members concerned.

After they get over the excitement of the naughty parts they might like to give thought to re-assessing his students papers with a view to failing those who took up his offer and passing those who had good marks or refused to accept his indecent suggestion.

Sorry the committee authorised to answer your question is currently on a mid summer vacation in a golf resort. We will get back to you in the not so far future.

An A for a lay is not unheard-of in most parts of the world.

Knee-jerk much?  My statement of fact did not imply a defending of the indefensible.

Most attractive women in the workplace trade sex for promotion. It's entirely normal in the western world as well as Thailand.

If he was denying her grades she deserved, entirely different, but if she was trading for something she couldn't attain by her own work (and couldn't afford to buy), entirely normal in Thailand.

There is obviously a lack of coherence and accuracy in the OP.

So the guy was already suspended. How could she be able to negotiate a grade and make appointment in a short-time room if the professor had already been suspended for giving grades for sex. How could he propose her sex for grades and/or meet her in a short-time room as he knew he was suspended and investigated?

It is also written that she unlocked the door to let the police in at the right moment. However on the video posted on Sanook (click the link on the OP) one can see the police entering the building, then looking for the room, and first going towards the wrong direction until a guy leads them to the right room. And one can clearly see the policeman knock at the door and quietly wait for the professor to open the door. Nothing like them waiting outside that the girl opens the door to rush in.

The narrative does not fit.

Yes it did.

And then you liked a post that went even further in doing so.

It may be indeed "indefensible", but BritManToo, by describing what actually happens, was not suggesting it was [defensible].  In your evangelical obsession to condemn others, you fail to listen to what they are actually saying.

Please stop the "I am holier than thou" attitude.
