Current Status of Thailand's Cannabis Law Changes
My understanding of the current status is as per the summary below. If you know of any additional or different information, please add it to this thread. --- Thailand’s cannabis regulations underwent significant changes in June 2025, reversing the 2022 decriminalization that allowed recreational use. Here’s a breakdown of the timeline: • June 23, 2025: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) published an announcement in the Royal Gazette reclassifying cannabis (specifically the flowering parts) as a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Wisdom Protection and Promotion Act. This reclassification restricts cannabis to medical use only, requiring a doctor’s prescription for purchase and use. Recreational use was banned effective June 26, 2025. • June 27, 2025: The new regulations officially took effect, as confirmed by multiple sources. These rules mandate that cannabis can only be purchased with a medical prescription (limited to a 30-day supply) for conditions like chemotherapy-related nausea or drug-resistant epilepsy. Public consumption of cannabis for non-medical purposes carries penalties of up to 25,000 Baht (US$700) or three months in jail. • 30–60 Day Enforcement Delay: On June 28, 2025, Thailand’s health ministry announced a 30–60 day delay in enforcing certain aspects of the new regulations to allow businesses and the public time to adapt. This delay primarily applies to requirements like obtaining official permits for sellers and ensuring compliance with prescription rules. However, the ban on recreational use and the prescription requirement for legal use were effective immediately from June 26, 2025. The delay has caused confusion, with some shops continuing operations while navigating the new rules. • Current Status (as of July 13, 2025): The recreational use ban and prescription requirement are legally in effect. However, enforcement appears inconsistent due to the transition period and ongoing regulatory adjustments. Cannabis shops are being encouraged to transform into medical clinics with resident doctors, and some are reportedly obtaining medical certificates easily to bypass restrictions. The MoPH and Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) are overseeing enforcement, with a focus on unlicensed sales and non-compliance, but the 30–60 day grace period (extending into late July or August 2025) means full enforcement is not yet uniform. • No Direct Reports of Individual Arrests for Recreational Use: Recent media does not provide specific cases of individuals arrested for using cannabis recreationally or without a prescription since June 26, 2025. Enforcement efforts appear to prioritize unlicensed vendors and illegal products (e.g., cannabis-infused edibles) over individual users. For example, a crackdown on illegal edibles followed incidents like a toddler’s hospitalization, with arrests and fines targeting sellers. • Reports indicate that within the first month of the new regulations (June 26–July 1, 2025), over 70 cannabis shops in Bangkok were closed for non-compliance, primarily due to unlicensed operations or violations of prescription and sourcing rules. Arrests and confiscations have targeted unlicensed sales and recreational use. -

I didn't mention any of Abraham brothers specifically, they have all the same agenda, even one or the other claim the next one is worse than the other. Give them the tools and good enough reasons, and they execute what they believe is right -

I'm worried I might have cancer. But, don't ask me why. Do you worry about this, too?
Man... Robbins has aged so much. How does he even deal with it? Last time I saw him, he was full of vim and vigor, and handsome. Now, he has so many wrinkles on his forehead.... In fact, his forehead wrinkles makes him look like one of those faces we see on Mount Rushmore..... I guess his positive thinking was just not enough.... This guy is a joke, and everyone knows it...... Still, with such a huge ego, he could care less. I wonder what it might be like to be his partner and have to sleep with him every night. Must be totally horrible.
