BANGKOK, 10th September 2018 (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister, ACM Prajin Juntong, has denied speculation that the Ministry of Justice's latest move to transfer two deputy director-generals from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) was to remove officers from its executive positions.

ACM Prajin said no attempt was being made to diminish the DSI's role, adding that it was a simple case of restructuring based on job suitability and the DSI is duty-bound to work with various agencies.

He said the DSI needed to find suitable personnel in fields where that was lacking.

He added that his department needs experts from various fields to help solve complex cases and improve its efficiency.

The Deputy Prime Minister said executives can be promoted to the roles of inspector-general, deputy permanent secretary, or permanent secretary, and there is no need for DSI officials to stay at the agency until they retire.

Referring to the new deputy director-general of the DSI, the Permanent Secretary for Justice, Wisit Wisitsora-at, said the former deputy director-general of the Department of Probation could strengthen the DSI's investigation work as that agency also plays a part in conducting probes.

Again, we have officialdom non-speak, meaning precisely that the individuals involved have been sacked. Why does officialdom have such difficulty in speaking the simple truth, i.e. the 2 men were simply not good enough and have been 'transferred'? In other words, and again contra to what Prayuth was at pains to say, only a week ago, there are reshuffles going on . . . only, now, just one or two at a time when he thinks it won't be noticed.

So they weren't about to uncover some naughty business?
