Tourist police check fishing boats for criminals

PATTAYA:--Pattaya tourist police hit the high seas to check fishing boats moored offshore, looking for criminals posing as fishermen and fugitives hiding out on boats.

Tourist Police commander Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn led the Sept. 3 operation he called a “routine” measure to reinforce safety for tourists.

He said, in the past, petty thieves and those wanted on arrest warrants have posed as fishermen to hide from authorities and evade capture.

This time, however, no criminals were found and no arrests were made.

Officers also took the opportunity to check licenses and permits and also found no irregularities.

Perhaps they should have a peek at the MC-clubs with foreign members, if they want looking for criminals.....

Maybe they found no irregularities, as it's perhaps the same as the infamous dartboard crackdown. Weren't all the dartboards confiscated because no one had a license, even though a license hadn't yet been dreamed up?

Tourist police are trained and knowledable on marine licenses?

Amazing multi skiled force, from hotel raids to road block checks to fake goods raids and now marine licensing

no deed to discriminate against the rest of Pattaya...

While they are at it, why don't they check the owners of boats with illegal nets and shanghaied migrant workers?

The biggest criminals are more than likely the owners of the boats.

Just beat me to it....

As mentioned previously, the owners are of course the real crooks.....but we can't upset them....rather a couple of pesky Burmese is easier!

So more wasted Pattaya Plod time whilst the meterless taximeter mafia continue to defy the laws of the land.

No No, Not the fishing boats ,Check the government offices.
