Non O visa

Featured Replies

Hi, I currently have a 2 month tourist visa with 1 month left. I was about to apply for a change of visa to a Non O visa and then a 12 month over 55 visa.

I need to return back to UK. I was wondering what is the best to do, return on a 1 month tourist visa and apply for change to O visa or go to Thai consulate and return with 2 month tourist visa?

It's not a 1 month TV, it's a 30 day Visa exempt entry.

You'll have to follow the conversion process either way and you need at least 15 days permission to stay remaining when you do the conversion. For that reason I'd advise you get a TV from your nearest Thai Consulate in the UK, which will give you more time to organise and prepare for applying for the conversion.

How long will you be in the UK?

If only a short stay you could get re-entry permit for the remaining time you have left on your 60 day entry and then apply for the 30 day extension after you return.

If you don't have a visa when your return you may need to show a return or onward ticket to board your flight.

How old are you? If 65 or over you could possibley get a single entry non-o visa at the embassy in London.

Another option is the O-A visa called 'long stay visa.'

Over 50

800,000 baht equivalent in UK bank

or

65,000 baht equivalent/month income.

It can last two years if done properly and cuts down on a lot of interaction with Imm' in Thailand.

Has to be applied for and is issued in UK.
