The President for nominating his stooge in the first place and the Democrats for trumping up (no pun intended) reasons for turning the nomination down. However, if the nomination is eventually refused, it can only be good for the American Justice System, which should NEVER be politicised. Yes I agree and have never stated otherwise. Take this process OUT of politics but we are where we are NOW.

But I wouldn't be putting him on the Supreme Court either. And that's the important thing. Any twerp can run for POTUS, but this man is applying for a position on SCOTUS; the highest federal judical court in the USA. He has made it quite clear that any legal decisions he makes will not be based on the law, but on his anti-Democrat stance. He will be like a policeman who is convinced of your guilt and arranges the evidence to suit that opinion instead of going where the evidence points. SCOTUS is the last hope for proper legal recourse. Can you trust this man to do the correct legal thing?

Popular Post NaamGin
After an emotional day of testimony on Capitol Hill, a late Thursday report from Townhall citing a Senate insider reveals that Brett Kavanaugh has the votes to make it out of committee and will be confirmed on the floor for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. It appears the 11th hour character assassination of Judge Kavanaugh failed. The Dims tried it with Clarance Thomas and Robert Bork, so they thought they would dust off the old playbook since after all, we are in the #MeToo generation where facts, evidence and proof mean nothing. Especially when you get the opportunity to destroy a man's career and family with false, unverifiable accusations that would never make it into court because of lack of evidence. All because he has a different political ideology than yours. Congrats though to the Dims for a spirited fight, you have raised conservatives interest in the mid-terms by about 12 points. You want to stack the courts, then go win some elections, if you can. Welcome to the SCOTUS Justice Kavanaugh. 5 1

Popular Post Silurian
The American Bar Association is calling for a delay and an FBI investigation! Even they understand the need for additional investigation so to not sully the people's trust of the highest court in the land. American Bar Association: Delay Kavanaugh until FBI investigates assault allegations Quote "The basic principles that underscore the Senate's constitutional duty of advice and consent on federal judicial nominees require nothing less than a careful examination of the accusations and facts by the FBI," said Robert Carlson, president of the organization, in a Thursday night letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein. ... In the letter, the ABA president says the Senate must remain "an institution that will reliably follow the law and not politics," saying a "thorough FBI investigation will demonstrate its commitment to a Supreme Court that is above reproach." Trump supporters seem to have no issues discrediting and doubting reports by security agencies - so long as it serves to protect the Don.

Not one found any inclination of the claims being made against him. One more would do the trick I guess, especially when you consider that everyone named as a witness to these events has made statements to the contrary. 2 1

Of course the reason there is a shortage of quality people is nothing to do with who is actually available, it is due to Trump sacking his transition team on Jareds request and choosing to run the appointments themselves, something they are clearly incapable of doing, hence why they keep selecting people with embarrassing or criminal histories. She is the one who articulated that Kavanaugh is an "outcome driven" judge. Forget about the "strict constitutionalist" vs "judges who use the law to legislate" ways to categorize judges. Kavanaugh is an extremely politically connected (Starr investigation, worked in the Bush White House, Federalist Society darling.) This guy has a fine legal mind, but views the law as something which can be used in order to get it to do what you want it to do. He has become skilled in using the law to accommodate the interests of the powers that be, and thus endeared and ingratiated himself to those whose interests are served. In other words, once he knows the outcome he wants, he is clever about promulgating legal arguments which support that outcome. I don't sense this guy has the ability to empathize with average Americans. His strong suit seems to be the ability to make adroit legal reasonings which have endeared and ingratiated himself into the graces of the Republican elite who have in turn groomed him for career advancement. But whether you're talking about abortion rights, civil rights, immigration, prisoner rights, corporate interests vs individual interests, campaign finance reform, gun rights, or environmental protection, how an 'average Joe' TVF member thinks putting this guy on the Supreme Court is in their best interests boggles my mind. You think this guy is going to look out for your interests? Unless you're in the top 10%, I think this guy is going to be looking after interests far far above your pay grade. But while it lasts, enjoy the illusion that your interests are being served by putting him on the court. An excellent summary of why this man should never be appointed. He is obviously a political appointee to a role that should in itself be free of politics but is increasingly seen as another way of pushing a right wing agenda through interpretation of the law. It's no coincidence that Trump and his cronies are trying their very best to get this man in as everyone in Washington now sees the supreme court as an uncontested route to their political leanings which in this case is right-wing christian ideology. 4 1 1

Those who believe Dr. Ford is a credible witness are only asking for a formal investigation, not judgement. If I were falsely accused I would demand an investigation to clear my name without caveat... strangely Mr. Kavanaugh seems angered by the idea.
