I'm hoping that the BMA has a number of professional managers, planners, engineers, project managers, but nobody made any plans to have the keys ready and available.

Further surely there should be several sets of keys to critical equipment, to ensure a set can be on site from one of several access points/personnel very quickly.

But surely these are not old style metal keys, there are so many newer starting systems which could be activated automatically by the water height (as mentioned) or activated by various signal systems with signal based passwords etc., by many personnel.

Beyond belief.

And here it is......................

They have been running a nuclear power plant on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, near Chatujak, Bangkok since 1962 without incident.

What the hell, any chance of a bit of what you're smoking?

It isn't a power plant it's a research reactor. It's also been closed down at least twice.

It has an output of 1.2 MW

Just to put that into perspective:

The smallest reactor in the USA is over 580 MW

The largest is nearly 14,000 MW

They do start automatically:

When the water reaches critical level, a member of staff is automatically sent off to find the key to start the pump.

Is there some other kind of automatic?

Yes.. the response from ministers.. to blame someone else !!!!

Well, Well, Well Who would ever believe the audacity to publish this was caused because The Officials could not get the keys. Faulty Towers could not beat this effort, Emmanuel you are no longer alone. As most Farangs would say " things like this could only happen in Thailand". Surely someone in power had access to the keys .Is there no  responsibility that go with government jobs.

Not only Thailand. On my first day of work in Bogota 1973 the tallest building, the Avianca building, burned up bottom to top. They had a sprinkler system, but didn't have the key there either.

“Aswin said the construction contractor had not handed over the well to the city so officials had no key to turn on the pumps.

"This kind of problem shouldn't happen and this is the city's fault," he said during his Tuesday inspection of a water drainage system at Soi Vibhavadi-Rangsit 44.”

lol... one would hope construction companies don’t hand over keys until the job is finished, including commissioning etc.

but being mindful of the fact that...TIT... I prefer others to go first ????

Now he is backtracking? Trying to 'save face'? The usual, let's blame someone else?

You can tell when "people" are on the level, the sh$te runs evenly out of both corners of the mouth! ????
