A motorist nodding off after a night shift ploughed into six motorcyclists on a Bangkok road on Friday morning, injuring seven people.

Police said none of the injuries were severe following the 10.30am accident on Asoke Montree Road in front of the Ocean Tower 2 Building.

The woman driver told police she was returning home after the night shift and dozed off behind the wheel.

Now I know why I had to wait so long at the Sukhumit Asoke intersection this morning to wait for the ambulances driving into Asoke.

How about a picture of the woman and a description of her night shift? Maybe one of the Tequilas was bad.

Hmm, perhaps the driver thought she was still in the bowling alley.

I'm sure her super duper Insurance will cover 'sleep mode'

My worst fear.. an idiot hitting my motorcycle. You can avoid a lot but not everything sometimes your at the mercy of people.

ZZZZZZZZZZ

I keep my eyes on my mirrors, and go to front of a lane that hss a few cars , I never sit in an empty lane, Didaster , here

So how may sleeping drivers have caused accidents this week alone ???

Tragic !

And that works well, right up until it doesn't.

As Robblok indicated, once we throw a leg over a scooter seat, we're subject to all kinds of outside forces over which we have absolutely no control, in addition to those things we can control.

Most of us are protected by the numbers- as opposed to any formula we may think protects us.  Because as dangerous as it is, 99.999% of us won't be killed on any given scooter ride.

So original....

How about investigating about how maybe she works 2 jobs a day because one does'nt pay enough or something equally non-snide?

Looks like quite a few badly injured.   What a mess !

Looks like blood running down from the victim on the left and more blood in the gutters.

I wonder what her night shift job is.  Couldnt be a factory job if she owns a car and can afford the almost European level petrol rices.

"European level petrol rices"? Definitely not referring to the UK here.

What!?

Wonder if the BIB will check her phone usage a few seconds before the accident.

Honesty........it was not the brakes. :coffee1:

Night shift? Is that what they are calling a Long Time these days?

What I notice about most accidents in Thailand is that there is not an attempt to hit the breaks before an accident.

You can take a lot of precautions that work most of the time but sometimes you can't avoid it but you can sure your risk is a lot lower. I prefer my motorbike over the car so much easier with parking and driving through BKK. I won't stop its just a risk I will take.

If you never take risks you could better just stop living.
