A tour bus collided with a car and fell off a steep cliff in Phetchabun province on Sunday morning, leaving 53 passengers injured, two of them seriously.

Witnesses said the collision took place on Highway 225 in the province’s Wichian Buri district, after which the bus plunged 50 metres into the valley.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene to help the victims.

It remains unclear what caused the accident.

These things happen far too often for anyone to make a stink about, less our beloved Field Marshal.

[he's not a Prime Minister, stop referring to him as such]

Brake failure caused by an inexperienced driver, not gearing down but using the brakes.?Overheating ?sometimes you can smell the brakes downwind, should not happen but it does.

These accident reports even top the news presence of BJ. Who says there is no check and balance here?

Vague Injured Passengers. ( Did we go this pretty way last time Somchai ? )

I recently drove this route 225 from Chaiyaphum across country to Nakhon Sawan. In many places it is narrow and winds its way through valleys, mountain passes and National Parks. It can be dangerous especially if speeding with dodgy brakes.

And in related news, 20 folks die in the safe USA as the brakes fail in their Limo......

Next. Just another accident.

The wheels on the bus go round and round but unfortunately don't stop????

What are you on about?  Why don't you stop referring to him using a 50 year already abandoned army rank and refer to him using his actual positions title?

There has not been a Field Marshal serve as Commander in Chief of Thailand since the 1960's, the position is given to a general, and Prayut gave up that role in 2014, first handing over to Udomdej, then it was Teerachai, then Chalermchai and the most recent was sworn in last month and is called Apirat.

Prayut, as head of the NCPO, has the power to name the PM, a title he gave to himself, he is the Prime Minister of Thailand, like it or not.

Tour bus taking the scenic route... nothing unusual about that here in the land of daily carnage !
