(Reuters) - Britain and the European Union have made progress in negotiations over the Irish border backstop, a key hurdle in reaching a Brexit deal, ITV News reported on Tuesday.

British Prime Minister Theresa May's chief negotiator Olly Robbins has made "meaningful progress" in talks with the EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier on the contentious Irish border issue, ITV said, without citing sources.

The matter of how to avoid extensive border checks between Britain's province of Northern Ireland and EU member state Ireland after Brexit has been one of the main sticking points of the divorce talks.

Has anyone told Arlene Foster?  She was reported yesterday telling Barnier there is no room for compromise.  Another day, another press release.

Unfortunately lawmakers do not always do a good job but if people decide by a poll it may even be worse because there are too many politican entice voters with emotional, stupid and even fake arguments.

Now that the British population wakes up I hope they will get a second chance to vote.

People are forgetting that the vote didn't say "Leave the EU but only with a good trade deal". It was leave the EU..... Period. Leave or Stay, vote either way!

The ones who voted for BreXit weren't concerned about trade deal, boarders and alike. It was to stop having Brussels dictate the laws that the UK had to follow. The UK people were lied to about what joining the EEC meant, the EU and central control was always the plan.

The UK classified document, FCO 30/1048 which was recently declassified outlines the governments plan and outright deceit. https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/acft/FCO+30+1048.pdf

The document says it would take about 30 years before the people finally woke up to what was going on and by that time it would be too late. Well they were right about somethings. But the outcome was discovered a little earlier and BreXit was the result.
