Thai government spokesman Lt Gen Weerachon Sukhondhapatipak has dismissed rumors that the boys and coach rescued from the Chiang Rai cave have signed a movie deal.

Weerachon, who is touring with the Mu Pa Academy in Argentina and the US, went on Instagram to scotch reports that a deal had been struck with Universal Studios, reported Sanook.

Reports suggested that 49 million baht was to be paid to the boys and their coach who would get 3.7 million baht each.

Weerachon said that discussions were still in progress and a next meeting would be held on October 17th, this Wednesday.

Weerachon was commenting in his role as spokesman for the creative media committee.

The word "yet" seems to be missing from that statement.

Fair play though if they walk off with 100,000 Euros each, which will set them and their families up quite nicely.

Happy to see those in need do well for themselves.  Hope they invest part of that money in educating themselves, so they can help others like them.

Another committee? For what? Steal funds that should go to the boys?
