Subject International submarine cable restoration update status (IIG)

Dear Valued Subscriber

KSC Commercial Internet Co., Ltd. is pleased to inform you that we were informed by CAT Telecom Plc. that the restoration of IIG international submarine cables which were damaged as the earthquake occurred in Taiwan in December 2006, is successfully complete. You can now enjoy uninterrupted international connectivity via IIG links as usual.

Moreover, we have a temporarily additional international Internet link via True Internet Gateway Co., Ltd. As a result, our international Internet bandwidth has been increased by another 300 Mbps, which can substitute for the current shortage of SingTel.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continuous support. Should you need further information or would like to contact us, please contact our 24-hr. call center at 02 979 7000 or KSC branch in your province.

Sincerely yours,

Customer Service

KSC Commercial Internet Co.,Ltd.

That 's really strange coz I've been finding that the programs using P2P have been almost inaccessible since the weekend. I have no idea what's going on does anyone have any clue here? But the internet itself has been getting a little bit better.

I think when bandwidth was at a premium alot of ISPs were throttling P2P and haven't yet opened it up. Don't hold your breath though. They'll respond to their corporate customer's request for more available bandwidth for their servers then they will to home users wanting it for p2p purposes.

It's actually really strange. There have been odd occurrences where the P2P channels have been "open" and when they do it's "FAST". I basically had about 1.5 gb worth of stuff queued up on uTorrent and just sitting there while I was working. And when I checked it all through the morning there were no connections what so ever. But all a sudden by about 3pm all my shit was done. I didn't believe it naturally, but sure enough, when I clicked on the files they were all working. However by 4pm there was no connections again.

I'm gonna try the same thing again tomorrow, and see if there actually is a window when they open up the P2P channels. Will keep it updated on this forum
