Hi,

My wife and I will be visiting Thailand during March.

I have just discovered that her Thai passport expires in July!

As a result I have a few questions:-

1. Will she be able to travel and return as there is less tha 6 months til expiry

2. What are the steps to obtain a new passport with the ILR transferred to the new passport.

Is it also possible at this time to change her title to Mrs?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

There is no requirement for a Thai passport to be valid for 6 months after the date of entry to Thailand. Your missus can then apply for a new passport in Thailand, although, if she wants to change her title to "Mrs", she will have to have her ID card changed first.

With regard to the ILR, she can either apply for a returning resident visa at the British embassy, or she can just carry the old and new passports together. The latter is the cheaper option.

Scouse.
