Visa requirements

Featured Replies

My Granddaughter is studying in South Korea and we would like her to visit us for a week in Bangkok before we go to UK, my question is as a UK passport holder will she be able to enter Thailand as visa exempt or will she have to get a visa on arrival, she will be staying at our home for just seven days and she will be arriving via Don Meung airport on a return ticket

Visa exempt.  UK (and most nationalities) can not obtain a visa on arrival in Thailand.

As a UK passport holder she will receive a 30 day Visa exempt entry.

Highly unlikely, but she should have the equivalent of 10,000 baht on her person in case she is asked.

Yes she can enter under visa exemption.

Visa on arrival is only available to nationals that don’t qualify for visa exemption and need a visa to enter.

The traveler must have that cash available to enter country if asked (you have no access to immigration arrivals area if not on flight).  But as said it is not likely to be asked.

Provide her with a letter stating your financing her stay, with your mobile number.

It's unlikely she'll be asked, but a reason to deny entry if asked and she doesn't have it.

As lopburi3 stated you have no access to the arrivals area and there are no ATM's before you pass Immigration.
