webfact
Electrical power restored to Koh Samui in time for High Season Picture: Sanook Sanook reported that residents of holiday destination Koh Samui were breathing a sigh of relief that electrical power has been restored to the island. Noppachart Pasokenitthakan of the electrical authorities said that an under water cable had now been repaired. This repair means that power from a sub-station in Khanom is now reaching the Samui 2 sub-station as normal. Problems have been ongoing for months but now adequate electricity is available as the December high season looms. I have never known a year be so quiet and I live on the so called party island. Nevertheless it is good to know the electricity is back to normal.
