Driving licence renewal / certificate of Residence

Recommended Posts

- need to renew driving licence.

- Have non B extension of stay and digital work permit (no blue book)

- previously work permit (blue book) accepted to renew licence.

- now seems Certificate of Residence required

- don’t have lease rental agreement or utility bills in my name as live with girlfriend

- not registered under TM30 as travel out of Thailand  every week

- all bank/credit card/phone statements sent to office address

any suggestions how to get driving licence renewed or how to get certificate of Residence?

if go to register TM30 will this cause any problems with non registration previously or problems in future?

To answer most of your question we need to know which office issued your extension of stay.

One option to get a certificate of residency is doing one at your embassy.

One stop Centre Chamchuri Sq Bangkok

does UK embassy still issue Certificate of Residence? I assumed they had stopped issuing most things for UK nationals in Thailand?

Ubonjoe , , any idea if UK embassy do certificate of residence ?  Ineed one , but don't stay in Tl over 90 days so cant get from Immigration , (here on retirement extension )

Yes they will. See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/notarial-and-documentary-services-guide-for-thailand#affirmation-of-residency

But you may not be able to get an appointment until next month (or later).

Thanks Ubonjoe , yes I saw the site , was just wondering if they required a permenant residence , apartment or condo , rather than serviced apartments

It does not have to be a permanent address.

If you have a rental contract or equal with a serviced apartment it would be accepted. Perhaps a short letter from them stating you are staying there on a long term basis.
