BANGKOK, 6th November 2018 (NNT) – The deputy prime minister has reiterated government achievements over the past four years at a dinner talk organized by the National Legislative Assembly’s (NLA) Welfare Committee.

The dinner was chaired by NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai who remarked that over the past four years the assembly had deliberated on a variety of laws covering society, politics and especially the economy, with key laws passed in support of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) so that it may fuel economic development and Thailand’s competitiveness.

Prime Minister’s Office Minister Kobsak Phutrakul gave a talk on the theme “The EEC and Thai Economic Development”, saying that legal support provided by the NLA to the EEC, has energized efforts to set up the project, reminding the audience that it is one of three being developed by the government for completion in the year of its ASEAN Chairmanship 2019. He indicated Thailand wishes to have the nations of ASEAN work as one with the EEC as a business hub and that road, rail and ship infrastructure is being built into the corridor for that purpose.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kreau-ngam gave a talk entitled “Thailand’s Next Step”, pointing out that Thailand had previously been unable to move forward due to a lack of goals and investor responsiveness. He outlined four areas that were previously uncertain: administrative power, orderliness, upholding of international agreements and future progress. He explained that now with a national strategy and reform plan, the nation should be able to proceed to greater heights.

I'd be pretty sure the talk was limited to their own personal welfare and how well they have come out of it.
