No, not at all. It means that Thailand is showing the world they have nothing to hide. That is positive. Not negative.

Only people who understand what they are voting for will be allowed to vote, contact any General for more information and remember this is a "General Election".

But its ok for Thailand to send obversers to Malaysia's elections?

Think Don saying foreign observers not really necessary since elected governments are no match for coups. They seldom last the full term anyway. Waste of time for foreign observers to come.

Yup........... That way they can steer the election 'Their WAY'......... LOL .....

How about asking the Thai people what they think?

If they don't allow foreign observers  then they will draw universal condemnation from the exact country they seek at appease.

Nobody expects this election to be fair, but if they opened it to foreign observers people would give the government the legitimacy they seek.

Do the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, NZ, Italy, Poland etc etc etc all allow foreign obvservers>

But of course, as they would never ever cheat, now would they!

In theory, it's correct; if there are no problems, there are no need for observers...????

He must have slept during the election in Cambodia this year!

He must also have gotten that Laos and Vietnam are Communist - they have a one party political system. Election monitors would be irrelevant - there is no political opposition.

Really.

Was there an irregularity with the General Election that voted in Prayut as the Prime Minister as well as the all ministers of the National Legislative Assembly?

Was there a problem with the February 2014 General Election that saw the Constitutional Court invalidate the election results, the third election that had been voided by the Constitutional Court since its creation?

Since at least back to 2010 there have been national election "problems" in Thailand that merits foreign monitoring. I hope the EU makes an issue of election monitoring as it has with Cambodia.

When was the last time any of those countries had military coups?

Thailand has had about 30.

Do the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, NZ, Italy, Poland etc etc etc censor the press and internet, ban free speech, ban assembly for political purposes, and have a military government that seized power in a coup against an elected government?

So, you have something to hide. Surprise, surprise...

I agree, observing something useless to selet puppets to dance for NCPO is not necessary.

As to be expected.   (All rosy in the garden ) as long as you don't open your eyes

If there are is nothing to hide, welcome them

Self explanatory.

International election observers in United States to hold press conference on Wednesday

The International Election Observation Mission comprises a total of some 140 observers from 35 countries, including 84 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and 55 long-term observers and election experts deployed by Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights .

I'm sure you can research for more examples.

I'm also sure that Prayut would object to the same observers as they would lack "Thainess."

"we don't need no stinkin' foreign countries"............

Or, as a former leader said, "the United Nations is not my father". Not a fan of oversight either I guess.

The country is having a huge problem. THAT'S the long Don lol

Pinnochio has been moonlighting giving tutoring

The Thai junta does not understand the difference between 'do not need' and 'do not want for reasons they'd rather not talk about'. At least they say one when they mean another but fear it may not be accepted. So why take the risk by telling the truth when you can tell a lie - right? This is Thailand after all, and these are Thais.

And are they tin-pot 3rd world countries with a reputation for braggadoccio, dishonesty and propagandising and pillaging their populations?

Must compare apples with apples and not apples with oranges. Comparing Thailand with Cambodia and Laos is probably more sensible than comparing it with Germany and France.
