webfact
More people expected to visit the winter festival this year BANGKOK, 8 November 2018 (NNT)-The Royal Thai Police say security will be tightened at the "Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam Nao” Festival as more people are expected to visit the event this year. Royal Thai Police Chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda presided over a meeting on preparations for the upcoming festival of ‘Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam Nao” or “Love and Warmth at Winter’s End’ at Dusit Palace and Sanam Suea Pa in Bangkok from December 9th to January 19th, 2019. The Royal Thai Police Chief said police officers from the Metro Police Bureau and the Central Investigation Bureau will be providing security and managing traffic around the venue. Like last year, visitors are required to show their ID cards or passports before entering the premises. Alcohol, drugs and firearms are forbidden at the festival. The Royal Thai Police will set up a police station to educate visitors about how the police handle crimes and help people. There will also be police horse and canine performances at the festival. Under the Rattanakosin theme, visitors will get to observe the traditional lifestyle of Thai people living in riverside communities in the past. -- nnt 2018-11-

klauskunkel
Chakthip, you are the police chief of all Thailand, but your photo ops truly suck compared to the "Big Jockey".
PhilippBKK
This event was super popular. Sad to hear no drugs and firearms are allowed.
connda
I wonder how many new restrictions they can place on this festival in order to destroy it. It seem Loi Krathong is on it's way out. Songkran a close second. Seems everywhere you go now it's 'Don't Don't Don't Don't Don't or you'll be fined and thrown in jail.'
