BANGKOK — Ninety-five percent of all seats in the interim assembly are held by men, making Thai women the world’s 10th least represented in the world.

That ratio of women in power is the lowest in over a decade and a significant slide from the pre-coup level, when women accounted for nearly one in six representatives. With the first election in nearly five years looming, a group of female politicians debating the issue agreed changing that remains difficult due to society’s deep-running misogyny and patriarchy.

Isn't that a good thing?

Or do you like the results of May, Thatcher, Merkel, Hillary?

(Yingluck doesn't really count as she was only a mouth for Thaksin)

Thailand ranks 184 out of 190 on a list of countries which have women in parliament. Only 5.30% of women to be precise.

Who let that one Thai woman appear in the back/rear of the OP photo with Prayut???

Surely that was a mistake!  :cheesy:

To be fair, when you have this amount of success with men why would you need women messing things up...

Oh?? Hang on a minute...

more likely 1,000 baht notes ????

Men should make all final decisions but not without consulting the women. Indigenous tribes have councils, most of which always defer to the matrons (not young women) before final deliberations.

Cheers

Why not? Women potentially every bit as currupt and power hungry as men.

Thai government...Police....RTA brass....almost always men...I wonder who or what is driving this trend?

Or, rather the briefcase is probably full of mama noodles. Thais hate travelling without their national food treasures.

as women become more represented in govt social welfare spending/dependency and national debt increase. boarders are opened up as well, Sweden being a classic example with their 'feminist' govt.

Nah its way too small for that

Racist, prejudice against woman and most all people. Hard to change the iron fist.
