BANGKOK — A deputy prime minister announced Thursday that the ban on political campaigning and political gatherings of more than four people will likely be lifted by Dec. 27.

Wissanu Kruangam, who advises the junta on legal affairs, said the lifting of the restrictions which have been in place over four years would probably take place between Dec. 16 and Dec. 27. He said it would pave the way toward the general elections slated for Feb. 24.

Ah, the get out clause to try and cover themselves (in advance) if they feel everything's not going their way enough.

Hmmm...

The ruling authorities and the esteemed media pundits have seem to misplaced their observation skills, as political campaigning and assemblage [officially permitted or not] has been ongoing, publicly, for months on end - by a wide variety of circles/associations.

Maybe better this way.Going back to the referendum re Scotland voting for independance..as as Unionist, I was subjected to roughly 2 years of incessant drivel from the snp and their camp followers.
All the lies..versions of the truth etc etc.
Short n sweet..way to go

Which is what is exactly going on in Thailand in case you hadn't noticed. One faction gets to control the media, the narrative, the treasury and the rules. The others get to remain silent or go to prison.

Very similar to the way the snp run scotland..but thankfully some sections of the media are not snp minded..but you can go straight to prison if convicted of a " hate " crime. Eg..voicing your opinion re the islamic ideology ..speaking out against immigration from certain eu countries etc etc..can put you on a very sticky wicket

Should be corrected: traditional establishment media and control thereof.

Many of the usual crowd and numbed spectators are predictably unaware of the wealth of alternative and critical sources that are quite available. Most don't bother, as it's much easier to absorb the mainstream bodies that are provided - regardless of one's disposition.....good, bad, indifferent.

'Tis the naturally conditioned manner in which an overwhelming percentage gather info, news, resources, etc.

Designed by them

Repeated often and loud enough, it all becomes real and true.
