Police have done precisely nothing in hunt for cop killer Red Bull's "Boss"

INN reported that a public prosecutor in the foreign affairs department has said that the Thai police have made no progress at all in the case of fugitive cop killer Vorayuth Yoovidhya.

The son of Chalerm Yoovidhya who owns the Red Bull drinks empire is wanted for driving his Ferrari into Vichian Klanpraset on September 3rd 2012. The officer attached to the Thong Lor station was dragged under the wheels of the super car and killed.

Chatchom Akkhaphin said that since an urgent request from prosecutors to the RTP back in April his department have received no further news.

They only know what they knew six months back - that the fugitive known as "Boss" is in England.

INN said that new demands are being made via letter for the Thai police to act in the case and provide more details so that prosecutors can continue with the case.

This is shocking and unexpected news.

  • They should've never given this case to the inactive post department.

I don't think this comes as a surprise to anyone. Obviously people were paid to ignore it and are probably still getting regular payments to keep it that way. I suspect that if anyone did actually try

Well cut off my legs and call me Shorty!...………... I'm stunned!

Interesting that they've never assigned Big Joke to the case. I guess that supports the argument that there really is no interest in bringing Boss home to face the music.

SHOCKING!!

Of course the police have done nothing, after they received several million baht in large brown holdalls, they just sat back and did nothing.

I suspect that if anyone did actually try to do something, they would find their path blocked anyway. No one can realistically ever expect to see this man face justice, but then in Thailand, the rich never do anyway, do they?

Of course not. They have already received their envelopes.

He could be put on trial he could be sentenced to life he could then be set free on bail.

Did anyone who claims to have a half a brain really think this would go any other way?

We know this guy is super rich. We know the police can be bought. It was obvious from the beginning what would (or wouldn’t in this case) happen.

In the strange judicial system of Thailand I wonder actually what would happen if this guys was caught and stood trial. I so many accidents where death is the outcome and it seems none is almost done,.. and this is when done by poor people. Would he be sentenced harsher because of status and wealth. Now I don’t trust any judicial systems in any country in the world. Well well, just a thought.

The key to understanding the lack of effort, progress, or success in finding this murderous young man, is in knowing a few things:

1. The current administration was installed to protect the elite, the powerful, those in office, those that are well connected, and the super wealthy. They have been very successful in fulfilling that mission.

2. The police are not law enforcement officials. They are franchisees.

3. Thailand has long had a system of impunity for the super wealthy. They are above the law. Any and all laws, including the army.

4. No effort was ever made. Anything to the contrary was a smoke screen, and a fabrication.

It would be shocking news if they actually had done something.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing..... Edmund Burke..

This axiom would have applied here if it wasn't for the fact that there aren't indeed, any 'good men' to be found...

Indeed.

One rule of law for them.

And one rule of law for......................

If the current govt inc the Two Mr P's and Mr BJ were remotely interested in actually "reforming" the country and ending any form of corruption, Young Red Bull Boy would already have been serving two years of his sentence in Klink.

But they are not.

And he is not.

All Lip Service to The Elite.

One rule of law for them.

And one rule of law for.............

And unlike Malaysia, or South Korea, this country will never move fwd until actually starts prosecuting wrong doers regardless of their status in this caste-like system.

And it won't due to who wields the power. Unfortunately.

Always a mistake to assume the rozzers have done nothing, but safe to assume they've done nothing beneficial to society, other than trousering quite a lot of money, on which they don't even pay tax.

This Thailand, and it should always be assumed that the man in the street is on the take in one way or another.

I am not an expert, but weren't there law changes that meant people running from the law could be tried and sentenced in absentia? If good enough for Thaksin & Yingluk, surely good enough for this whimp.

The law was changed to allow 'political' crimes to be heard in absentia.   It was done specifically for the Shins as they really annoyed the 'Elite' by winning every election this century.

Yet it was one of their own fellow officers who was killed and dragged along the road by this unsavoury individual .
