Hunt on for wonderful taxi driver who is "good news for Thai society"

Daily News reported on a story about a taxi driver that they said was "good news for Thai society".

A woman called Nareumon Aramsri called the radio station Jor Sor 100 at the weekend to say that a taxi driver had taken her to an emergency clinic after she suffered the effects of taking too much pain medication.

The driver drove quickly and sounded his horn repeatedly to make sure she made it in time. Then after ensuring that she was alright and in the care of doctors promptly disappeared without getting paid for the fare.

Nareumon said she suffered sharp back pain and went to a pharmacist in the Huay Khwang area of Bangkok on Saturday. She was given piroxicam 20mg and told to take one.

She took two thinking that would be better for the pain.

She started suffering chest pains and blurring and got the assistance of a trader to call a taxi to take her to a clinic in Pradit Manutham Road where she had previously been treated.

She told the driver that she was not locking her phone and that the last call was to her sister if anything went wrong. She suspected she might pass out and took a picture of the license details of the cab inside the vehicle.

She remembered very little of the journey to the clinic - except that the driver was going fast and sounding his horn throughout the mercy dash.

Once at the hospital doctors took over. After she recovered she asked nurses if they had paid the driver - no, they said, after making sure she was OK he had left without payment.

Now the hunt is on for the driver who was in pink cab ทษ (thor sor) 2997.

Daily News said in their headline: "Pink Taxi Hero Sought".

Find this taxi driver and shower him in garlands. Just remember to take pictures. If you forget to take pictures, it will all have been a waste of time.

You will hunt a very long time for a "good news" taxi driver in Bangkok.

Why are they hunting him? He was a good guy!

Isn't that what they do to the good taxi guys (all three of them)?

2 piroxicam is tantamount to 2 motrin tabs. she likely got heartburn. no emergency

I'm surprised the taxi driver didn't simply give her a full course of antibiotics.

With so little to go by, it could be years before they're able to trace him.

Probably good she didn't pay too close attention while he ran several motorcyclists off the road, crippled a soi dog, and used his machete to threaten an old lady who stalled at the lights.
