What is the best way to get from Chiang Mai to chaiyaphum , no drive, plane or bus or combo both ?

AirAsia has an early morning and an evening flight to Khon Kaen (7:15 and 20:15).

Plenty of buses to Chaiyaphum from there (about 120 km on the road to C. city).

To avoid bus ride in the dark get up early and do the morning flight.

 

CNX to Chaiyaphum buses.

Direct buses will likely exist.

With one change: absolutely sure (worst case: to Khon Kaen and change there to C.).

But sorry I don't know the details.

About 620 km, expect 10 to 12 hours.

Via Khon Kaen maybe 14 hours or so.

If money does not matter you could use a taxi from Khon Kaen airport to Chaiyaphum.

Should be no higher than 1200, negotiate.

With the early flight this could bring you to Chaiyaphum until 10 AM.
