Jip99
A friend is arranging to get a Thai birth certificate for her 14 year old son. Once obtained she wishes to apply for a Thai passport. A couple of questions:- Can she do this at her local passport office in Korat. Does she need to get a Thai ID card first. Does she need to put him on the tabien baan first. Thanks. mngmn
Off topic I know, but I would translate 'leuk krung' as 'half breed'. An English term that most would feel uncomfortable using in 2018.

In reality the basic translation is 'child half' / 'half child'. And no need for any further comment. You need a hobby.

But both parents need to be present unless she has full custody or an official letter of consent from the father. 1 hour ago, Jip99 said: Does she need to get a Thai ID card first. asiaexpat
Having done this before: Step 1: register birth in Tabien Baan using birth certificate Step 2: Apply for ID card Step 3: When ID card is issued apply for passport
