Stan Lee's cause of death has been released two weeks after his passing.

According to Stan's death certificate, which was obtained by E! News, the Marvel comics legend died from cardiac arrest, with respiratory failure and congestive heart failure as underlying causes.

Stan previously suffered from pneumonia and vision issues, and aspiration pneumonia is listed as a "significant condition contributing to his death."

Stan died at the age of 95 on Nov. 12. He is best remembered for starting Marvel in 1961 with Jack Kirby and creating Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, and The Avengers.

He was 95 for flips sake, a pretty good innings by any account.

What's wrong with "old age, natural causes"?

I recall reading an article several weeks before his demise that his relatives were already scrapping for control of his assets and his estate, based on his mental capacity.  It's probably good that they checked the cause of death.

Edit:  "old age, natural causes" could mean he starved to death because he was unable to care for himself, which would have much different implications than "congestive heart failure".

Lordy.  He was 95.  He died of old age.  No doubt his body needed to be sliced, diced, and mutilated in the grotesquery of Western science known as autopsy.  And for what?
Let the good man rest.

Or there are some who believe that life begins at conception, and recently on here some Doctor was quoted as saying that the brain ie life, carries on after the heart stops. So an extra birthday card for some folks !

From that 3rd link...

Linda Sanchez, Lee’s former nurse and in-home caregiver, said she witnessed verbal abuse and financial manipulation, both by Morgan as well as by Lee’s 68-year-old daughter, JC Lee, whom the father describes as “a vulnerable woman” who is “an easy target for predators.”

Sanchez says JC “screams terrible, abusive things at her father” and blames him for her problems. The nurse also says that, although she has not witnessed direct physical abuse, “I have noted numerous bruises to the right side of Mr. Lee’s body which were unexplained.”

I think they needed to make sure he wasn't murdered for his $50-70 million estate...

If only they did that kind of diligence in LOS...  I suspect a lot of wealthy old guys would live longer- foreigners and locals.
