webfact Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Five escape with minor injuries in six-vehicle pile-up By The Nation Six vehicles were involved in a pile-up on a road to Chon Buri province on Sunday morning, with one van overturning and breaking most of its windows. Fortunately, the accident victims got away with minor injuries. All the five injured were in the overturned van. The multiple collision involved two vans, two pickups and two sedans in Bang Saen. Police said a car in the front slammed its brakes suddenly giving the vehicles behind too little time to react. “Another van tried to avoid the pileup and switched to my lane, hitting the middle of my vehicle and causing it to overturn,” said Chalor Janto, the driver of the overturned van. Kanjana Phatum, a 30-year-old van passenger, said she considered herself lucky she did not sustain serious injuries even though she was in the overturned van. Major road in CNX has painted large white dots representing two car lengths between cars, multiple signs telling drivers to keep this distance. Of course they dont, if you allow that distance some clown jumps from the left lane in front of you, ditto. Again no idea of HOW to drive by these people. 4
Popular Post asiaexpat Posted December 3, 2018 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2018 Thai driving skills, nothing new. 3
Lungstib Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Cars on main roads here look as if they are tied together with 4m long pieces of rope. One mistake is all it takes. 2
stanleycoin Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Usual behaviour of the Thais on the roads. And everyone involved in this accident, will say, it was not there fault. and will be convinced they did nothing wrong. 2

Yes. I just cannot understand the mentality of driving too close to the vehicle in front. What are they hoping to achieve? 1

Sums up Thai roads on a daily basis and how they maintain the status of one of the worst countries in the world for road accidents! 4 1
losername Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 "Typically, someone is tailgating you because they want you to drive faster". In Thailand that just about says it all. Not denying it is true in other countries as well, before anyone else says it. Source: https://www.leithcars.com/blogs/1421/lifestyle/tailgate/
mikebell Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 If you leave a safe braking distance between you and car in front, a duckhead will fill it. Eventually you end up driving backwards. 2
fakename Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Quote You should always consider the Tailgaters. They are important people and always in a hurry to an important meeting, or to get the last Som Tam. Do not hit your breaks, even if you will die, Tailgaters are the most important people on the road! 1 1
