I try not to complicate things. I take magnesium before bed, read a bit, and then fall asleep. What matters to me is how long I sleep, whether I wake up during the night, and how quickly I fall asleep again. What really affects my sleep is what I do during the day, what I eat, what I think about, and what I avoid doing or put off that I should have done. Simple as that, or as complicated as you want to make it. I also periodically drink chamomile tea with a bit of honey, which seems to calm me down in the evening. Apart from that, I occasionally drink coconut water, take vitamin D3 and K2, try to keep turmeric curcumin available wherever I go, omega 3, creatine, and whey protein powder. I also occasionally try other supplements, but for now this is my core routine. As some have mentioned above, kidney problems are a real issue for many people. Stay hydrated, and drink less alcohol and coffee as you get older. If you struggle with kidney problems, supplements and medications should be discussed and properly understood. At the same time, claiming that all supplements and medications are bad is too absolute.
