Should income for visa 800K (retired) or 400K (married) not be taxable?
This is because The Thai tax code is written with a view to what is taxable in Thailand, irrespective of whether the income is derived within Thailand or overseas. Tax residents of Thailand with foreign income must consult the Thai tax legislation to know what is taxable. Social security payments are exempt. Even in the UK, many social security payments are exempt, e.g. Universal Credit. UK tax legislation specifies which are taxable and which are not. Thai tax legislation blanket exempts them all. That's the law! (in Thailand) Feel free to pay thousands of baht in tax on non-taxable exempt income if you think otherwise. -

"Foreighn Income" and your Thai Accountant.
This is exactly what I have done with immigration, and exactly what I will do in relation to this tax policy. I do not want to have ANY contact with ANY Thai government employees, and I am prepared to pay for the privilege. The agents can deal with them, at their quoted price. If anything comes back to me, I'll hand it on the agent and tell them to take care of it. Of course I will check their work, but if I have the various documents for immigration and the TRD, I consider the job done for the year. -

Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
In such circumstances does the pilot announce that an engine has failed? I would have thought it better to just get on and land the plane without scaring the passengers. -

Destination Thailand Visa Extension requirements posted on Immigration website
I already Have DTV (stamped until 3rd of March). As someone mentioned it'll probably be easier to avoid all this mess and just spend a weekend in KL or P-P or Singapore. I have bank statement and dental appointment for 8th of March, just in case to show at the airport.
