LongTimeLurker
Tesco on Sukhumvit sell organic pork. There's a few BetterGro shops around Pattaya as well that claim to be organic but I've never tried them.

balo
Organic is hard to find in Pattaya, and can you trust if the veggies and fruits you buy are really organic, unless it's imported ? Good luck and keep us posted if you find something.

I may have the business card somewhere. The vegetarian restaurants must get their supplies from somewhere. Years ago I saw shockingly priced organic herbs at the Avenue Supermarket but have not checked recently.

The expat population are not exactly doing yoga and clean living and the Thais could care less about it since all their food is bought in 20 baht plastic bubble bags you might want to try bangkok

But I take your point. But veganism, vegetarianism, organic food consumption is rocketing the west and so it will here eventually. As for the Thais: they might see it as a potential burgeoning market. Just as they have with natural herbal cures and as they are with seeking to control the rights over the medicinal use of medicinal Thai marijuana. The best vegetarian place in Pattaya is Five Star J in Pattaya Tai, not far from Friendship . You might want to ask the owner, a German where he gets his veggies from. I would be surprised if they are organic. And I would recommend a meal in his restaurant, it's really tasty food, even vegetarians in Bangkok travel here to visit his place . https://www.fivestarj.com/ https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293919-d3628657-Reviews-Five_Star_J_Vegetarian_Restaurant-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html Edited December 11, 2018 by balo

I have also heard some greedy farmers forces fed pigs with water to increase their weight before they weigh them so they get better price. You squatted over a high millstone and the pigs rushed to eat everything left on the ground below. But it is possible to feed pigs with organic food just as specialised foods are fed to pigs that are used for palma ham and serrano ham, chestnuts and acorns etc.

madusa
Oh ok I see what it means now. If previously some idiots put lots of chemicals in the soil and me not knowing that I grow my veggie there so my veggie can't be organic at all. What if I buy lots of good soil (tested for non chemicals in soils) put them in containers(plastic or concrete) and grow whatever I want then I believe it's organic . I am eating - me and my family so who cares if it is not certified as organic or not. Thanks for your good info on this subject, cheers.

Yes that's basically what organic means, organic meat usually means not grown with the routine use of antibiotics, growth hormones and not feeding them the ground up bodies of other dead animals.when I read the list of ingredients on some food packages I wonder if there is anything organic in it at all it all seems to be from a factory and lab.I just wash all my vegetables and salads to get rid of surface chemicals, blanch them to kill the bacteria and cross my fingers and hope for the best. If you find anything labeled as organic, it will most likely be fake and nothing more than a ruse to inflate the price. For veg, maybe try Makro, they do sell quite a lot of imported stuff. I have visited the shop today.it is excellent. You do not know what you are talking about. The European owner and his thai partner are are extremely knowledgeable in the area of nutrition and related matters. If you are interested I suggest you visit there.
