I looked for a thread on this but didn't have much luck.

I am looking for a really good agent who can find the best price for either an around the world or multi-stop itinerary from here to the US and other countries.

I checked out the thread below about flights to HK and tried the Kayak search engine link that is pinned above but they are at least 40% higher than a couple of little off the wall places I found here in Chiang Mai. Kayak is offering a deal for Bangkok to Phuket for over 7000 Baht!

Anyone know a hot international agent?

Am getting word out to DTC but in the meantime I have a recommendation that I would really like to have pinned at the beginning of this forum.

I have been at this for several days and the variety of responses are incredible. Most internet agents in the US and UK deal with flights originating in their country and finding anything else is difficult indeed. Here in Thailand I have received responses from agencies who provide an itinerary that barely resembles my original, completely omits legs/destinations, and makes connections with 17+hr layovers in horrendously boring places like Taiwan or Seoul..

I had used an agency on Phuket years ago who were absolutely tops but, my aging memory being what it is, I seemed to be beginning from scratch once again.

But then I finally found them in an ancient email folder this afternoon and faxed them my itinerary at 5:30pm, prepared to wait a couple of days for a response...

Two hours later, at 1930 this evening, I got back an itinerary that exactly matched my preferences, provided routing that was incredibly direct with no layover over four hours (the longest at Narita where I think I could take up residence), all flights are partners in my mileage program including Thai Air, and came through with a price that is 6000+ Baht cheaper than anything I have gotten so far, and even INCLUDES four inter-island flights in the Hawaiian Islands which nobody else had any idea whatsoever how to find/book!

If you are booking here in Thailand, they provide their Bangkok Bank info and you can deposit to their account from anywhere in-country and they may even take credit cards. Once paid, your tickets will arrive via EMS within a couple of days and the agents are available for follow-up for things like meal and seating requests or changes in flight dates.

It does seem though that your 'World' consists of just USA so if you live in a world like that its little bit easier to do a 'round the world trip' Enjoy your travels

And, given the portion of my post that you selected, I can fully understand how you would get the impression, however incorrect, that my "world consists of just USA".

Not only have I lived here for the past six years, I have been coming to Thailand both as a destination and travel-hub on round-the-world journeys since 1966.

Part of what I have learned over decades of travel is that there are, everywhere, communication channels available where we fellow travelers/expats can cooperatively share information and experiences for the benefit of,

and respect for,

us all.

I live in "a world like that" wherever I am, Mahout Angrit and am fortunate to know that I would never have to answer to anyone as to how I earn my own keep while on the road on this planet or our's...
