I recently discovered that there are "jurisdictions" for Thai embassies and consulates in the US.

I had planned to take care of my visa issuance at the Consulate in NYC while paying a visit to a good friend of mine. After seeing this map, however, I wonder if I'm somehow required to fly all the way to LA instead (or mail my precious passport across the country), since my permanent residence is technically in the Western jurisdiction, but nowhere close to LA.

To do so would be a huge logistical headache for me. I'm wondering if this "jurisdiction" is actually enforced. Has anyone had an experience they might be able to share?

Use your friends address on the application form when you apply at the consulate.

I think the jurisdiction issue is more for doing them by mail. If you do it in person it would not apply.
