Seems to me like this is just a way for the government to have more of your personal information. A licence takes less pocket space to carry than a phone. And. Road safety and carnage reduction should rate much higher than this nonsense ! What's so hard to understand about this for people moaning about how much bigger a phone is than a card. Nobody is asking you to carry another phone for a DL. It is not a burden. You already have a phone. If you want to you can have a DL app on it. You do not have to. It is not compulsory. And your last line is straight out the TV textbook. They should not be able to make any improvements to anything at all because road safety is very bad here.

syncmaster7
First, unlock your phone. Then, open your Thai Driver's License App. Last, open your Mobile Bank App, enter the requested amount. You're good to go. The most efficient way to pay your traffic fines.

As for 'negativity', this is usually based on past performance analysis of government IT initiatives. One only has to look at Immigration's on-line 90 day reporting to see they still have IT capabilities based on 'Thailand 2.0' technology!

Popular Post GarryP
A couple of weeks ago I was up country in a very small provincial town (or large village), and quite a few of the shops accepted payment using QR code direct debit systems (True Pay, Rabbit Pay, Prompt Pay). So to those of you who keep banging on about how behind the times Thais are technologically, perhaps you should look in a mirror. The younger generation are probably way ahead of a lot of the older posters on TV, myself included.
