The stunning looks of the most beautiful woman in the universe could be down to her being half-Scottish.

Catriona Gray, 24, was crowned Miss Universe at the final of the pageant in Thailand on Sunday night.

TV host Catriona doesn’t just boast a Scottish-sounding name, her father Ian is from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire.

Ian’s family emigrated to Australia in 1952 but Queensland-born Catriona represented the Philippines in the beauty contest as her mother Normita is from the south-east Asian country and she now lives there.

Not surprised at all from the moment I saw her picture.

Of course not a typical Philippina.

Reminds me of the many "luk krueng" (Thai/Foreign offspring) in Thai entertainment business/soap operas etc.

Am I the only one thinking that if she'd entered the pageant as Miss Scotland, and then won, it would have been the best thing ever? ????
