The Spoksman for the Ministry of Defense, Lt. Gen. Kongcheep Tantravanich, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, chaired a meeting of the government's committee on prevention and suppression of human trafficking on Wednesday. The meeting discussed a report on Thailand's prevention and suppression of human trafficking for 2018 before submitting it to the United States of America. According to the report, human trafficking cases from 2017 to 2018 have a tendency to drop compared to 2015 to 2016. The government's policy and intensive law enforcement has decreased the number of human trafficking criminals, while increasing the number of rescued victims.
