Well, Assad was - by even American interpretation of democracy - elected by the majority of the electorate and the whole soup started to boil over once everybody else put their nose into this repetition of a proxy war. 

No he is a Dictator by any ones interpretation of Dictatorships, but most especially Prince Vlad Putins.

No argument on that, fully aware. But it proves that some countries are better run by a dictator than a „open democracy“ and no, the US system is so corrupted and faulted, you might prefer the Russian way of handling things. This provided of course that you are mainstream oriented, otherwise it gets difficult - but the same applies in most of all those „democratic“ states like the „Democratic Republic of Korea“ or the „People‘s Democratic Republic of Laos“.
