UK's Hammond accused of failing to release funding for no-deal Brexit: The Telegraph

Very simply. The referendum showed that a clear majority of those who voted, wished for the UK to leave the EU.

Notwithstanding that a significant number of ministers in the government wish to prevent the UK from effectively leaving the EU. Hammond is very much one, (personally I think that he is the real driving force behind this), the Prime Minister is another. They are the principal players in the efforts to arrange a "deal" which means that the UK does not effectively leave. Therefore they have made no preparation or proper contingency plans for actually leaving, despite the referendum starting the process over two years ago. They are actually doing their best to prevent both the decision of the electorate and the manifesto commitments on which they were elected in the subsequent general election being carried out. The cliff edge is of their making, they wish for it to be the only alternative.

Now whether one agrees or not that the UK should leave the EU, such action shows a staggering arrogance and cynical approach to the decision of the electorate, expressed in both the referendum and the last general election.

Even today she is still trying to persuade her party members to vote for her deal . Talk about stubborn , her way or none . What really bugs me is when she says that the UK public voted for Brexit and that is what I am delivering . That is one hell of a false statement as it does nothing of the sort . Do not trust her and would not be surprised if she was related to Tony Blair .  Conflict of interests me thinks .

The Blair Witch Project.  ????

read somewhere today that Mr Liam the trader

says that if May-deal is voted down in parliament

then its about 50% chance that Brexit will be canceled

anyway

since TM called off the deal vote before xmas not much has been happening

UK has been in kind of a limbo/vacuum

the only one ake a wee bit use of the limbo is TM

the odd speech/interview etc here and there

surprises me that those who do not want may-deal to pass and do want Brexit come 29 March

doesn't use this vacuum to promote their case in a meaningful campaign

I agree with this. It has been quite an voyage to get to know a bit better how Brits really think.

Let us know when your voyage ends and you finally get there.

I hope this particular trip ends on March 30th. Afterwards we all can have fond memories of the past good times.

Hampering Hammond...

How is Hammond 'hampering' any thing?

The money is there should it be needed. Why the rush to release it now; what would the various departments do with it until, and unless, they needed it?

But as I said earlier:

I don't understand.

For 2.5 years we have had Brexiteers telling us that a no deal Brexit was the best deal and would save the UK taxpayer billions of pounds.

Now they are complaining because the Chancellor wont release taxpayers money to cover the costs of a no deal Brexit!

Shome mishtake, shurely!

Can any Brexiteer explain this glaring contradiction?

It seems like the Siberian wolf pack is going after individuals who wish to keep the UK together. One by one, by a large pack. Divide et impera.
