Yes, not one Islamic terrorist attack on British soil has involved firearms. Thank goodness for British gun laws. If we had the same gun laws as the US (i.e. none) there would be far more British innocents dead now.

Understood, but spare a thought for the innocents that had their legitimate pursuits curtailed in the process...

Hell of a lot of attacks over the years with the Irish and now these fools, many involved bombs and gun laws didn't stop any of that.

Yes, I am sure we all spare a thought for all the innocents who have had their legitimate pursuits curtailed by Britain's tough gun laws.   Particularly all those innocents who would no doubt have died because of lax gun laws.

UK gun laws didn't stop the PIRA because their guns were provided by gullible Americans and smuggled over the border from the Republic.

Far more difficult for Islamist terrorists in the UK to obtain guns without that help.

How would you feel if car licences had become virtually impossible to obtain after Princess Di died at the hands of a drunk driver?

"But that's different"? (but only because you and your ilk drive whereas none of you shoot or know anything about it!)

It is different.

Cars are a mode of transport. Yes, if driven carelessly, particularly if the diver is drunk or under the influence of drugs, they can kill. But there are laws to try and prevent that.

Guns have one purpose and one purpose only; to kill.

Which , in turn, were smuggled in from the US.

Any tool can be used to kill.

True. In the UK the weapon of choice for both Islamic terrorists and street gangs is the knife.

However, an atrocity like the Las Vegas shooting could never happen in the UK. One 64 year old man with a knife isn't going to leave 58 dead and 400 wounded.

Terror attacks with knives tend to have single figures of victims. Even the worst atrocity in recent times, the London Bridge attack, where three Islamic terrorists, used a van to mow people down on the sidewalk, then wandered through the crowd stabbing people, only resulted in 8 innocents dead. If they'd had the weaponry that the Las Vegas shooter had, the death toll would have been many times greater.

The Second Amendment was written over 200 years ago to cater for an armed militia to protect the US. You now have by far the most heavily armed military forces in the world to protect you. 2nd Amendment is now completely invalid and you should repeal it and join the rest of the Western World in the 21st century.
