Marc Briant
Dear all, Retired visa renewal 53 years old, french national Question: do the thai immigration still accept the french embassy affidavits of revenue? Do they ask for additional proof of the revenue? Which kind of proof is accepted. Does any french has renewed his retiring visa recently using the french embassy declaration of income? Thanks a lot for your help. Marc.
BritTim
The answer appears to be that, right now, nothing has changed with respect to what immigration will accept for retirement extensions. However, a police order is expected soon that will outline new rules that may, or may not, end the acceptance of income affidavits. Even if income affidavits will not be accepted in future, they are likely still to be valid for a transition period of a few months.

If ever a new Police Order terminates the use of such letters (unlikely), I hope they will give us at least a 6 months prior notice. I use such French Embassy Income Letters. No problem at Jomtien/Pattaya Immigration. Never been asked for additional proofs.

There is no need for a new police order. The existing policy order does not specify an income affidavit/letter is required. It states the level of income required, but not how the income should be proven. All immigration need to do is announce what proof they will accept if they change their policy. 1

It is a a police order according to info given to the US embassy, They have also seen a draft of the police order. An announcement would certainly not be enough. Announcements are not official like orders, directives or regulations are.

Popular Post Jumbo1968
I thought the problem was certain Embassies not issuing avvidats not Immigration refusing too accept them ?

mindfulness
Would it be right in saying that the police are the law makers. Surely all immigration regulations have to be passed signed off by legislative / government administration amendments. Its a sick world, rotten to the core. Kalasin Jo
Now we know there are new rules in a new police order about seasoning of funds in the bank. Not good. See separate topic on this. The new police order is shown on the OPs post and it states Embassy letters for income method will continue to be accepted and there is no reference to further back up proof for that, if your Embassy still willing to do them. The only law pertaining to immigration is the immigration act of 1979 that has not been changed since then. There are ministerial order/regulations under it and police orders based upon those regulations.
