The closure affects services by Nok Air, AirAsia and Lion Air. Airports of Thailand has instructed Surat Thani, Chumphon, Ranong, Trang and Narathiwat airports to closely monitor the storm and prepare measures to deal with its impact. The storm hasn't really affected Hat Yai except for lots of rain, though you need also remember Hat Yai airport doubles as an airbase, Wing 56, so I guess it should be equipped for all weather operations.
